10% tithe
"Tithe" means a tenth or 10 percent. The Old Testament law required that a tenth of all produce, flocks, and cattle be given to support the Levites (the priestly class in ancient Israel). In turn, the Levites were to give a tenth of that for support of the high priest (Leviticus 27:30-33, Numbers 18:21-28).
An additional tithe, collected every
three years, was to be used to meet the needs of the Levites, foreigners, orphans and widows. (Deuteronomy 26:12-13).
Additional tithes were taken for festival purposes.
In addition, everyone was to be generous with those in need:

In September 2008, Inspector General Earl Devaney reported wrongdoing by current and former employees of the Minerals Management Service, an agency under Kempthorne’s administration which collected about $10 billion in oil and gas royalties annually, and one of the government’s largest sources of revenue other than taxes. According to the New York Times, “Eight officials in the royalty program accepted gifts from energy companies whose value exceeded limits set by ethics rules – including golf, ski and paintball outings; meals and drinks. [There was also] frequent consumption of alcohol at industry functions, use of cocaine and marijuana, and sexual relationships with oil and gas company representatives.”….
On December 16, 2008, the Center for Biological Diversity announced intent to sue the Interior Department under Kempthorne for introducing “regulations… that would eviscerate our nation’s most successful wildlife law by exempting thousands of federal activities, including those that generate greenhouse gases, from review under the Endangered Species Act.” …..
The meeting with Pope Francis was partially funded by the Vatican Foundation and participants were selected by Coe. Other attendees were:
Gayle Beebe, president of the evangelical Westmont College in Santa Barbara, Calif.
Joel Osteen, the pastor of Houston’s Lakewood Church, said to be the largest in this country. With a vibrant community and a weekly collection totaling $600,000, the pope could have been asking Osteen for advice.
In addition to the pope, the group was scheduled to meet with various cardinals. The purpose of the meetings was “to promote ecumenical prayer and interfaith understanding.”

On June 24, a delegation of evangelical leaders met privately with Pope Francis for almost three hours and then had a private luncheon with him.
Like Osteen, Kenneth Copeland preaches the “gospel of prosperity,” the belief that faith can increase one’s wealth. He is founder of Kenneth Copeland Ministries in Newark, Texas, Eagle Mountain International Church and co-host of Believer’s Voice of Victory.
Copeland was one of several televangelists targeted by Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) in 2007 for their lavish lifestyles. Calling Copeland the “Godfather of Prosperity,” CBS News released a detailed report in 2008 on Kenneth Copeland Ministries, saying an investigation “raises serious questions about the Copeland’s religious empire.” “In my viewpoint,” one of the Copelands’ former employees told CBS News, “I believe that they were using a lot of the ministry’s assets for personal businesses.”
Copeland and his wife “live in a 20,000-square-foot lake-front mansion near Fort Worth, Texas. They regularly fly one of their two expensive jets around the world, including regular trips to their multi-million dollar mansion in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. In 2008, Mr. Copeland even boasted that he had collected over $1billion in donor funds during his career.”
James Robison of Life Outreach International is an “apostolic elder” at Gateway Church and co-hosts the Life Today TV program. “Property records show that James and Betty Robison live in a ‘modest’ Texas home appraised by tax-assessors at $742,800. They also own one or more multi-million-dollar homes in Silverthorne, Colorado and their large Robison ministry ranch and lodge in East Texas, likewise built with donor money.” “Robison said he and Pope Francis found common ground in caring for the poor.”
Other attendees of the June 24 meeting included:
Rev. John Arnott and his wife, Carol, of Catch the Fire Toronto are co-founders of Partners for Harvest ministries in Toronto, Canada. Hank Hanegraaff, in his book Counterfeit Revival (see Google eBook) used Arnott’s “healing” of the legally blind (and still legally blind) Sara Lilliman as an example of “counterfeit revivalists who pepper their appearances with fabrications, fantasies and fraud.”
The meeting was organized by Tony Palmer, former director of Kenneth Copeland Ministries in Africa. Palmer is ordained with the Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches (CEEC), a small congregation unrelated to the main Episcopal denomination. “The CEEC also ordained Gene Ewing, who for decades has been running a direct-mail operation sending out gimmicky letters (with prayer cloths, holy water from the Jordan and holy oil) promising riches and healing for anyone desperate enough to send him money.” When Bishop Palmer began working to reconcile Roman Catholics and Protestants in Italy, Kenneth Copeland Ministries was one of his first financial contributors.
Mr. Robison said he was “blessed to be part of perhaps an unprecedented moment between evangelicals and the Catholic Pope.” He described the private meeting as “an intimate circle of prayerful discussion and lunch to discuss not only seeing Jesus’ prayer answered, but that every believer would become a bold, joy-filled witnesses for Christ.”

Certainly “ecumenical prayer,” “interfaith understanding” and the hope that “every believer would become a bold, joy-filled witness for Christ” are legitimate goals for religious leaders. So why didn’t the Vatican and corporate media trumpet these meetings like other news about this pope?
For the same reason they didn’t report the pope’s March 31 private meeting with Steve Green, billionaire owner of Hobby Lobby during which they discussed “the exercise of the rights to religious freedom.” Pope Francis even “asked how the (Hobby Lobby Supreme Court) case was progressing.”
And didn’t report that the only two American laypersons currently working in the Vatican – Juan Zarate and Mary Ann Glendon – were both members of the Bush 43 administration.
Because fortifying the Church’s alliance with the American rightwing and evangelicals does not conform to their carefully constructed image of this pope. Nothing demonstrates the enduring partnership between the Catholic Church and the corporatocracy more than the corporate media’s coverage of Pope Francis.
Three days after Santo Domingo Archdiocese Auxiliary Bishop Victor Masalles said he “was shocked to see the former papal nuncio walking freely around the center of Rome,” the Vatican announced on June 27 that Wesolowski had been defrocked. The Vatican acknowledged that the archbishop “has been granted relative freedom of movement as he awaits verification by the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith of the basis of these accusations made against him.” So Wesolowski apparently still has unlimited access to children.
The AP and others inaccurately reported that Wesolowski had been “convicted of sex abuse” and “sentenced to the harshest penalty possible against a cleric: laicization.” Had Wesolowski been “convicted of sex abuse” he could have been “sentenced to the harshest penalty” of a Vatican prison term. Or the pope could have just turned Wesolowski over to Dominican or Polish authorities from the get-go and he wouldn’t be “walking around freely” during this past year.
During the reign of Pope Francis, the Vatican has shown remarkable expertise in manipulating the willingly complicit media. Some of the most egregious examples have been demonstrated by the Associate Press. With “more than 1,700 newspapers, more than 5,000 television and radio broadcasters,” the AP drives much of the flattering news about the pope.
At the height of the worst publicity for the Church surrounding the UN Committee for the Rights of the Child hearings last January, an “APNEWSBREAK: POPE DEFROCKED 400 PRIESTS IN 2 YEARS” appeared and was quickly picked up by about every media outlet imaginable. This information was taken from “an internal Vatican document prepared to help the Holy See defend itself before a UN committee” and given to the AP.
In his last two years as pope, Benedict XVI did defrock 384 priests for sexually assaulting children but 202 were voluntary requests by the priests themselves.
On April 11, 2014, the AP reported (and picked up by other media):
Pope Francis said today he took personal responsibility for the “evil” of priests who raped and molested children, asking forgiveness from victims and saying the church must be even bolder in its efforts to protect the young….Francis made the off-the-cuff remarks [as he spoke] to members of the International Catholic Child Bureau, a French Catholic network of organizations that protects children’s rights….
Francis comments during the closed audience were only reported in part by Vatican Radio, and Vatican Television excluded them entirely in its initial edit of the audience. The full quote was obtained after the Associated Press requested video of the full comments from Vatican Television.
As noted above, not every papal meeting is reported by the Vatican nor covered by the secular media. So it is probable that the AP was tipped off that the “video of the full comments” should be obtained.
In a January article, David Gibson of the Religion News Service did a great job highlighting some of the almost absurd widely reported stories about Pope Francis:
• The Vatican once again had to dispel media reports that went well beyond what Francis actually said, as his spokesman formally denied that the pope had signaled an openness to same-sex unions in a recently published conversation with leaders of religious orders.
• On New Year’s Eve, Fr. Federico Lombardi put out a statement to counter a column by a prominent Italian journalist and atheist, Eugenio Scalfari, claiming that Francis “has abolished sin.” Lombardi had to reiterate that those “who really follow the pope daily know how many times he has spoken about sin.”
• After fevered speculation that the pope might break with tradition and name women as cardinals, Francis himself denied the rumors. “I don’t know where this idea sprang from,” he told an Italian journalist in an interview in December.
• In early December, the Vatican categorically denied a media report that Pope Francis has been slipping out at night to visit the homeless in Rome.
• In September, the Vatican “firmly denied” that Francis had called a gay man in France to assure him that “your homosexuality doesn’t matter.” No way, no how, Lombardi said.
• And last May, the Vatican called the claim that Francis had performed an exorcism on a handicapped man in St. Peter’s Square “absolutely false.”
I am somewhat puzzled that people who consider themselves to be well-informed Democrats, liberals or progressives and know that the raison d’être of the religious right is to elect Republicans, and/or who claim a certain sophistication as regards the corporate media, have been so naive.

Pope Francis has been invited by House Speaker John Boehner to speak to
a joint session of Congress.
Boehner extended the formal invitation today in a letter to the Vatican
— on the one-year anniversary of his papacy — saying the Holy Father has
“awakened hearts on every continent.”.
“Pope Francis has inspired millions of Americans with his pastoral manner
and servant leadership, challenging all people to lead lives of mercy,
forgiveness, solidarity, and humble service,” Boehner wrote. “His tireless call
for the protection of the most vulnerable among us — the ailing, the
disadvantaged, the unemployed, the impoverished, the unborn — has awakened
hearts on every continent.”
Boehner, a Catholic, said the pope’s message “challenges people of all
faiths, ideologies and political parties.”
Since Paul VI made his first papal visit to the United States in 1965, three
popes have come to America. John Paul II, who came to the United States seven
times, visited with every president from Jimmy Carter to Bill Clinton.
A pope has visited the United Nations four times, but one has never
addressed the House and Senate during a joint session.
“Whether inspired by St.
Francis of Assisi, who cared for all of God’s creation, or by St. Joseph,
protector of the church,” Pelosi said, “Pope Francis has lived his values and
upheld his promise to be a moral force, to protect the poor and the needy, to
serve as a champion of the less fortunate, and to promote love and
understanding among faiths and nations.”
Congressional officials told ABC News they did not know whether Pope
Francis would accept the invitation to visit Washington. It is an open-ended
invitation, aides said.
“His social teachings, rooted in ‘the joy of the gospel,’ have prompted
careful reflection and vigorous dialogue among people of all ideologies and
religious views in the United States and throughout a rapidly changing world,”
Boehner said, “particularly among those who champion human dignity, freedom,
and social justice. ”

couple has moved to a $10.5 million mansion in River Oaks, while keeping their
former Tanglewood residence, valued at $2.9 million.
They
are, however, selling a vacant lot next to their former home. Asking price for
the half-acre property at the corner of Doliver and Sherbrooke: $1.1 million. Martha Turner Properties has the listing.
The
lot is marked by an ivy-covered wall that adjoins the 5,600-square-foot, four
bedroom home. When the land is sold, the property will be divided.
In
a sign that the Houston real estate market remains soft at the high end, the
Tanglewood lot was first offered for sale at an asking price of $1.4 million
last August. The price
was dropped to $1.299 million in December and to $1.1 million last
month.
Several
months ago, the couple and their children moved to a 17,000-square-foot stone
mansion in the Tall Timbers subdivision in River Oaks. The Osteens' new home is
situated on 1.86 acres and surrounded by an ornamental fence. The 411: It has
six bedrooms, six bathrooms, three elevators and five wood-burning fireplaces,
with a one-bedroom guest house and pool house. The Harris County Appraisal
District valued it at $10.5 million.
The
Tanglewood house is owned by Joel and Victoria Osteen according to Harris
County Appraisal District records. The River Oaks home is technically
owned by the Covenant Trust, which means the Osteens do not qualify for a
homestead exemption on it. They will pay around $260,000 in property taxes on
the new home this year.
According
to reports, Osteen hasn't drawn a
salary from the church since 2005. His income comes from best-selling books and
related products, such as calendars, daybooks and inspirational pamphlets.

Joel Osteen, bestselling motivational author and evangelical pastor of America's fastest-growing megachurch, was among a small group that included Mormon Sen. Mike Lee, to meet privately with Pope Francis at the Vatican in Rome, this week.
Osteen said he was honored to meet with Pope Francis, who leads the world's 1.2 billion Roman Catholics.
"I like the fact that this pope is trying to make the church larger, not smaller. He's not pushing people out but making the church more inclusive. That resonated with me," Osteen told the Houston Chronicle.
The megachurch pastor, who ministers to 52,000 worshippers weekly and reaches millions through his books and television broadcasts, added that the group's meeting with Francis was cut short due to the death of a cardinal, Simon Lourdusamy. Osteen added, however, that the pope asked the group to pray for peace in the Middle East as well as for him.
According to Deseret News, the meeting with Pope Francis on Thursday was "part of a multiday, unofficial visit to Italy to promote ecumenical prayer and interfaith understanding."
In addition to Sen. Lee's and Osteen's presence, the publication reports that others in attendance included Tim Timmons, a pastor and author based in Newport Beach, Calif., and Gayle D. Beebe, president of Westmont College in Santa Barbara, Calif.
The Fellowship, or The International Foundation, reportedly organized the trip. The Fellowship is led by evangelical Christian minister Douglas Coe, who was noted by the Vatican Information Services as one of many guests received by Pope Francis on Thursday, cited simply as: "Doug Coe of the National Prayer Breakfast, U.S.A., and entourage." The Fellowship is the main organizer behind the annual National Prayer Breakfast held in Washington, D.C.

ROME – Two controversial TV preachers recently met Pope Francis in an effort to work toward tearing down the ‘walls of division’ between Catholics and Protestants.
Kenneth Copeland and James Robison are two religious leaders in northeast Texas known for drawing huge crowds to their services and events, and who were a part of leading the group identifying as a “delegation of Evangelical Christian leaders” in its meeting with the Roman Catholic pontiff late last month.
Copeland heads Kenneth Copeland Ministries and Eagle Mountain International Church, while Robison is an “apostolic elder” at Gateway Church and co-hosts the Life Today TV program.
In 2008, CBS News released a detailed report on Kenneth Copeland Ministries, saying an investigation “raises serious questions about the Copeland’s religious empire.” For example, according to the report, the “ministry” operates private jets which are often used for vacation trips.

VATICAN CITY (Worthy News)– A delegation of evangelicals led by televangelists Kenneth Copeland and James Robison met with Pope Francis for three hours last week at the Vatican.
The meeting was set up by Bishop Tony Palmer, a bishop of the Anglican Episcopal Church in the United Kingdom. Last January, Palmer addressed a Kenneth Copeland pastor's conference calling for unity between Catholics and Protestants.
"This meeting was a miracle," Robison told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "This is something God has done. God wants his arms around the world. And he wants Christians to put his arms around the world by working together."
Over the past few years, Robison has led several conferences with evangelicals and Catholics working toward an ecumenical understanding. Robison along with Catholic philosopher Jay W. Richards wrote a book entitled, "Indivisible."
Earlier this month, mega-church speaker Joel Osteen, also met with the Pope saying, "I love the fact that's he's made the Church more inclusive, not trying to make it smaller, but to try to make it larger — to take everybody in. So, that just resonates with me."
However, critics have expressed concerns about the recent ecumenical gatherings, stating that ecumenicism is far from biblical and point to the understanding that the last religious ruler termed the "False Prophet" by many will gather the world into a false "one world religion."

Crisis of Catholic Authority is a kind of ecclesiastical horror story. It relates what can happen when an autocratic hierarch chooses to exercise his supreme, punitive power over some of his subjects. No one on this earth will restrain him, neither the priests of his diocese, nor his fellow bishops in the U.S., nor the high authorities in Rome, not even the pope himself. And like some ancient gothic curse, this awesome penalty has acquired a life of its own, continuing in full force for 18 years, outliving the resignation of the bishop who pronounced it, still in effect to this day and into the foreseeable future.
The bishop is Fabian Bruskewitz, who ruled the diocese of Lincoln, Neb., from 1992 to 2012. Those immediately affected by excommunication in 1996 were some 45 members of the Nebraska chapter of the Call to Action organization who happened to live in the Lincoln diocese. They were given one month to resign from the accursed group, at which time the penalty would automatically go into effect. Also presumably affected were any other Call to Action members who would move to Lincoln in the future without renouncing their membership.
It should be noted that no other U.S. bishop has followed Bruskewitz's lead in all these years, though the bishop himself has become a kind of folk hero to supporters of Mother Angelica's EWTN television station and other far-right conservative Catholic organizations.
Author Rachel Pokora narrates the story clearly, without rancor or bitterness. She is a professor of communications at Nebraska Wesleyan University who moved to Lincoln after Bruskewitz struck. She chose to join CTA's Nebraska chapter after experiencing the rigidity and extreme conservatism that marked parish life in the diocese, and she later served for several years as the chapter's president.

Numerous persons have been declaring that Word of Faith leaders are in reality false teachers and false Christians deceiving the flock. My response has been that I need to see clear factual evidence that proves these charges. Now, I believe I have seen clear factual evidence that Kenneth Copeland is not a born-again Christian but a New World Order charlatan deceiving the flock.
Kenneth Copeland has received Tony Palmer. Tony Palmer is an emissary of the Catholic Church who says that all Christians are subject to the Vatican, the pope, and are Roman Catholic. This is indescribable evil. It denies the living reality of the Headship of Jesus Christ over the church as Savior and Lord replacing Jesus with the papacy. The Roman Catholic Church declares that itself as an institution is the means of salvation, not Jesus Christ our Lord. So, in effect, the Roman Catholic Church denies that Jesus Christ as God come to earth as a man who died on the cross for our sins and rose again on the third day is the Only Way of salvation.
I understand that born-again Christians are “involved” in the Roman Catholic Church. So, I would agree that Christians under seduction and deception may be external members of the Roman Catholic Church while truly being born of the Holy Spirit. I understand that some born-again Christians may still be trapped in the web of deception of Satan of the Vatican and the Roman Catholic Church as an institution of men.
Yet, God calls all true saints of God in Jesus Christ out of the Roman Catholic Church due to it’s institutional and papal apostasy. The Vatican itself and the pope are apostate in denying Jesus Christ as God and the Only Way of salvation: Jesus Christ the Only Way to God the Father. The Roman Catholic Church as an institution (the Vatican) has denied the Son in apostasy and has not the Father. The Roman Catholic Church as an institution, and thus the pope and Vatican, are apostate.
The evil is so great, that the last pope of the Roman Catholic Church is prophesied to be the false prophet who will usher in the antichrist as the false prophet of the Book of Revelation. Many Christians are testifying that this current pope, Pope Francis, is that false prophet prophesied in the Book of Revelation. Thus, Kenneth Copeland striving to unite those who follow and heed him to this hellish pope and Vatican is the level evil of blasphemy and apostasy. Ultimately, in the spirit of Satan, Kenneth Copeland is moving to unite those who heed and follow him with the antichrist through the false prophet as the harlot church of Babylon.

After Joseph Ratzinger publicly announced his plans to retire, quite a few people who are aware of this website or the @Fire_the_PopeTwitter
account remarked how I got my wish or, jokingly, how my website may
have led to the first resignation of a pope in 600 years.
Yes,
I’ve had Ratzinger’s picture prominently displayed on this site and,
given his long record both as the pope and as the one person responsible
for handling all sex-crime cases in the Church, I strongly believed him
to be incompetent at best.
However,
FireThePope doesn’t just mean fire Joseph Ratzinger. FireThePope isn’t a
cause to bring down one man. FireThePope is an effort to expose the
entire Roman Catholic Church, as is, as fraudulent and there is no
better way to do that than to start at the top.
Not your Father’s church.
The
Roman Catholic Church sets itself apart from all other religions,
including Christian denominations, by claiming its head, the pope, is
the successor of Peter and that Jesus anointed Peter to be the head of
his church. The Church points to Matthew 16:13-20 to support this claim.
Catholics conclude the Roman Catholic Church is the “one true church”
of Jesus Christ and all other Protestant or non-Roman orthodox churches
are inferior to it.
Roman
Catholics call their church “the bride of Christ” and “Holy Mother
Church”. These nicknames market the idea that Roman Catholicism dates
back to the days of Jesus Christ and it – or “She”, as they say – is the
very foundation of Christianity and all other religions are mere
offshoots or sequels to Roman Catholicism.
Ultimately,
Roman Catholicism rests solely on the supremacy of Peter and the
apostles. Without the supremacy of Peter, there would be no pope.
Without the supremacy of the apostles, there would be no priesthood as
the Roman Church defines it. Without the superhuman powers of Catholic
priests, bye-bye sacraments, indulgences, and the entire institution.
Today,
let’s focus on the papacy. Following are ten reasons why there should
never be another pope and, if there is, he should be completely ignored
by the Catholic laity, the media, politicians, and the public at large.
Because
the Vatican bases its very existence on a scene from the New Testament,
it must also accept other verses of the NT in order to be consistent.
Either the NT should be accepted as true, non-fictional accounts or not.
Either those accounts must be taken literally or not. But, one cannot
say this is a source of truth, inspired by the Holy Spirit and then pick
and choose which passages the Church wants to follow or not.
1. The church of Jesus Christ in the bible was not a physical empire. Matthew
24:1-2 - ”Jesus left the temple precincts then, and his disciples came
up and pointed out to him the buildings of the temple area. His comment
was: ‘Do you see all these buildings? I assure you, not one stone will
be left on another – it will all be torn down.’” 1 Corinthians 3:16 –
“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the spirit of
God dwells in you?” Also, Peter 2:5-9 – “Be yourselves as living stones
built into a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual
sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” Jesus preached in
homes and on hillsides, not in buildings. He only went in to temples to
draw people out of them or to scold the church leaders. The word catholic, found in the bible with a lower-case c, means universal. In the first century, the wordchurch (also lower-case c) meant a society of men, women, and children who are spiritually – not necessarily physically – united to serve God. According to the NT, Jesus established the catholic church – a universal society of believers who would offer spiritualsacrifices. I explain below who really instituted the Roman Catholic Church, which requires material (pagan) sacrifices.
2. The church of Jesus Christ was not built upon one man. The
idea that the church of Jesus was built upon one man is preposterous.
Yet, that is what the Roman Church claims. Its only foundation is the
notion that Peter was chosen by Jesus to be the first pope and that all
popes are Peter’s successors, chosen by the Holy Spirit and infallible
in all of their declarations. Roman Catholicism teaches that the pope,
acting on behalf of the Church (notice the capital C indicating the
Corporation) has the power and a duty to act as a mediator between the
Creator and his creatures. It has been a long-held tradition that the
Vatican, the Magisterium, and the clergy would interpret the bible for
the laity. However, 1 Corinthians 3:11 reads, “For other foundation no
one can lay, but that which has been laid, which is Jesus Christ”.
According to scripture, Jesus, not Peter, is the foundation of the
Christian church. Jesus is also the sole mediator, so says 1 Timothy
2:5: ”And the truth is this: ‘God is one. One also is the mediator
between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, and who gave himself ransom
for all.” According to the New Testament where Catholics turn to justify
the existence of their Church, there is only one mediator between God
and the people and that is Jesus Christ, not Peter and not Joseph
Ratzinger.
3. The church of Jesus Christ in the bible did not have a pope.The
word pope is not in the bible, where the Roman Church points to as
justification for itself. The early church described in the New
Testament speaks of bishops who were overseers or local
supervisors of the effort to spread Christianity. They were not rulers
over the people. No one bishop had authority over any other. No one
bishop was the head of the effort. There was a bishop in many major
cities, including one in Rome. It so happened that certain Roman
emperors (namely Constantine and Charlemagne) elevated the position and
authority of the bishop of Rome, specifically, because they had the
power to do so and because it was convenient as Rome was the seat of
power. Emperors appointed bishops and abbots and usually appointed
members of aristocratic families. The idea of a pope – one bishop over
all others – was a corrupt power grab by murderous dictators and had
nothing to do with Jesus Christ or anything in the bible.
4. The Peter of the throne was not the apostle but an impostor.
Remember, the apostle Peter originally went by the name of Simon. Then,
he was referred to as Simon Peter. Jesus named him Peter at the rock
because the name Peter – or Petros (Greek) means rock.
This Peter was from Cyprus, according to the bible. But, there is
another Simon in the bible, this one from Samaria and he was a
troublemaker. Locals called him Simon the
Swiss Guard Army elite - who later on go to manage secret Vatican Swiss Banks in Switzerland and worldwide

He claimed to be able to do magic tricks and held The Circus of Nero in
Vaticanus Hill. Simon Magnus claimed he was God (hence, the magic) and
he became a nemesis, a rival, and a thorn in the side of the apostle
Peter. There was such trouble between the two that Emperor Nero set up a
contest to settle their differences. Simon Magnus was killed after
being thrown from his chariot and so Nero, who had favored him, had
Peter arrested and thrown in jail. If there was a pope on a throne in
the days of the early church, it was not Peter the Apostle but Simon the
Magician. Simon sat on a throne; Peter never did. Simon claimed to be
God; Peter never did. Simon claimed to have supernatural powers; Peter
never did. Simon Magnus even started going by the name Peter in order to
confuse people. They both had the same name, they both died in the same
year – 67 A.D., and they both had spent time in Rome. The proof that
the Simon of Samaria, not Cyprus, sat on the throne in Rome is the
documentation that Magnus stayed in Rome for many years at a time while
the apostle came and went quite often.
5. The apostle Peter never considered himself God or Jesus Christ. Again,
the idea of the papacy rests on the supremacy of Peter. The Roman
Church claims the pope is “Christ’s (sole) representative on earth”. The
Peter whom the popes are supposed to have succeeded was married with at
least one child – a daughter. He never sat on a throne and he never
claimed to have magic powers or to be infallible. He never claimed to be
better or more important than the other apostles or early leaders of
the Christian church. He never dressed in fancy clothes, he never wore a
ring to be kissed, and he never insisted on the red carpet treatment.
Acts 10:25-27: “As Peter entered, Cornelius went to meet him, dropped to
his knees before him and bowed low. Peter said, ‘Get up! I am only a
man myself.’” When Nero sentenced Peter to death by crucifixion, Peter
insisted on hanging on the cross upside down because he was unworthy to
die as Jesus died. Peter the apostle, claimed by the Church as the first
pope was never a pope and his philosophy and practices, according to
the New Testament, were a far contrast to those of the papacy no matter
who is holding the title.
6. The Roman Catholic Church was not established until the 4th Century. Roman
Catholics claim Peter of the bible was the first pope and that there is
an unbroken line of popes stretching from biblical times to
present-day. This claim is nothing but a re-writing of history. The
Church needs that lineage in order to justify itself and the papacy yet
it does not have the facts on its side so they have to create a new

done is go back and list anyone who was a bishop of Rome as a pope. The
actual papacy didn’t begin until the Roman Catholic Church began and
that wasn’t until the 4th Century with Pope Constantine I – the emperor –
who ruled from the “chair of St. Peter” from 306-337. Constantine came
to the rescue of Christians who were being persecuted by Emperor
Diocletian. It’s not that he was overcome by compassion but realized he
could take political advantage from the growing number of Christians.
This ties the pagan Roman Empire to the Catholic Church whose members
also worship objects and offer material sacrifices.
7. The papacy was on life support as recently as 1870. In
the mid-19th Century, there was an effort to unify Italy which was
split in two by the Papal States governed by the pope, then Pope Pius IX
(the one who dreamed up Immaculate Conception).
Victor Emmanuel II, the new King of Italy, had seized all of the
Church-controlled territory except a small segment of Rome. Napoleon,
who had previously been an ally of Emmanuel, protected the pope and by
having some of his troops stand guard at the Vatican. When the
Franco-Prussia War intensified, Napoleon pulled his troops out of Rome,
leaving the pope defenseless. The Italian troops moved in and the pope
lost all of his temporal (civil) power minus rule over the tiny
territory of the Vatican. Emmanuel allowed the pope to keep the Vatican
and freed him from Italian rule but the pope was defiant. Pius IX
refused to recognize Emmanuel’s new kingdom and he voluntarily kept
himself a prisoner of the Vatican. He cried anti-Catholic bias until
support and donations poured in for him, including from Catholics in
America. The empire of the Roman Church was all but lost in 1870. It
took more deception to keep it alive.
8. The papacy was corruptly propped back up by a fascist dictator. In
the 1920′s, the Italian government wished to settle its differences
with the Church. At the time, the Prime Minister of Italy was Benito
Mussolini.

He
conspired with the Vatican to shut out populist factions in the country
in order to amass more power and control for himself. The Vatican
silenced priests who favored a more democratic government. In return,
Mussolini gifted the Church by officially recognizing the Vatican as an
independent and sovereign city-state. Within the borders of Italy, popes
would receive diplomatic immunity and the Church would receive
financial reparations for its loss of the Papal States. Also, Roman
Catholicism would be the one state religion in Italy. These agreements
were called the Lateran Pacts and they are what revived the
much weakened papacy. Mussolini would go on to become one of history’s
most brutal dictators. Today, Vatican City, the whole 0.2 square miles
of it, is recognized by the United Nations as a sovereign city-state of
which the pope is head.
9. The
pope is an absolute monarch at a time when most educated and reasonable
human beings believe in freedom, democracy, and accountability. In
2011, the world witnessed what is now referred to as The Arab Spring.
Ordinary people protested – many to their deaths – for freedom, respect,
and democratic elections. Many citizens of some nations in the Middle
East had been oppressed for generations and they finally decided it was
time to take a stand against tyranny. It has been said there is a
natural hunger to live freely, no matter what part of the world one
lives. The pope is an absolute monarch, only one of a few that still
exist and certainly the most powerful. As such, and because he enjoys
diplomatic immunity both in Italy and out, he is accountable to no one.
The pope is elected but not by the people he represents as in a
democracy. He is elected by the same men whom he appointed to the
College of Cardinals. Once a pope takes office, he is unaccountable to
anyone inside the Church or out. This type of power is contrary to what
the New Testament described when Jesus turned tables on the clergy. The
pope, like Simon Magnus, claims to be God. Only someone with a
God-complex would claim to be above the law and every other human being.
10. The papacy is not inspired by the Holy Spirit. If anything, it would be inspired by the spirit of Lucifer. As construction workers ready the Vatican chimney for the upcoming puffs of white smoke or black,

human beings are expected to believe that the Holy Spirit is guiding
the process of the papal conclave. When cardinals vote a certain way, we
are told, it was because the Holy Spirit told them to. It’s time for a
reality check. Many of the men who will be voting – or running – for the
next pope have blood on their hands – blood ofchildren. Yet, we are
supposed to believe they have an inside track to the Holy Spirit. From
the beginning of the Roman Catholic Church, throughout its history, and
including today, Roman Catholicism has been a corrupt empire disguised
as a Christian religion. I’ve heard many people credit it merely because
“it has been around for 2,000 years”. It hasn’t been around that long
and does it matter that it has only survived as long has it has because
it has succeeded in fooling gullible people? Does it matter that it has
grown as large as it has because many of its converts joined only under
the threat of death? Does it matter than the majority of Catholics were
entered into the Church before the age of reason? Catholics are quick to
remind us of “all the good the Church does”. There isn’t a tyrant in
history that couldn’t claim the same. Evil almost always presents itself
in disguise – as something good. When deception is the foundation of an
institution, no amount of superficial acts that come out of it can make
it good. Deeds and institutions can only be good if they are based in
truth. Like it or not, the spirit that is guiding the Roman Catholic
Church isn’t holy, it is evil. And the only way to kill a serpent is by
chopping off its head.

There’s
an elephant quietly sitting in the nave that everyone on all sides of
the clergy sex abuse crisis have been diligently ignoring, even the
victims themselves. No clergy or even would-be reformers have really
remarked on it yet, although it should be more obvious with each and
every sad story. More importantly, it is a troubling issue that touches on the very heart and soul of Catholicism.
The monstrous truth is simply this: what the clergy sex abuse crisis clearly demonstrates is that the sacramental system has failed.
This is not just a case of hierarchical reneging of responsibility.There’s more to this than some bad apples. This is nothing that a few reforms can fix, some screening of seminarians or more pastoral responses by bishops. It is nothing less than a fundamental challenge to the entire Catholic Church, and it shows that the spiritual principles the whole structure is supposedly based on simply do not work.
Think about it. The offenders here are Roman Catholic priests, highly trained men. But unlike other professionals, these men are supposedly set apart and dedicated to lives of the spirit. They claim to have the power to forgive sins and make God appear.
They not only administer the sacraments to others, but also receive them themselves daily. That means, among other things, frequent confession to other priests. Moreover, many of these men belong to religious orders or are otherwise under close spiritual direction. They are supposed to confide everything to their confessors and superiors and to obey them unquestioningly.
So what went wrong? When an abusive priest goes to confession, does he start, “Bless me, father, for I have sinned: I buggered an altar boy three times this week”? And does the confessor tell him to say 3 Our Fathers and 4 Hail Marys and not to do it again?
According to their own theory, confessors have the power to forgive sins, but also to refuse to do so if sorrow is insufficient. Moreover, they are to appoint penances – if they wish, they can require satisfaction or significant signs of reform from the penitent before absolution. Some sins – such as solicitation for sex in the confessional – are even deemed so serious that only higher prelates, sometimes only the Pope or his appointed delegate can forgive them.
Yet the abusers continue to abuse. So are the sexually active priestslying to their confessors? This would mean that not only do the perpetrating priests remain in a state of mortal sin and are automatically excommunicated, they perform the sacraments in that state which is itself a grave sacrilege.
Or, even worse, are all the abusive priests linked? Do they only go to confession to like-minded perps who will understand? Is there then an organized network of sexually perpetrating priests, all busily enabling each other? This adds collusion and conspiracy to the sinand would indicate that the very structure itself is rotten to the core.
The evidence available suggests that perhaps both scenarios are true to varying degrees in different situations. Either way, however, the result is much the same.
The sacraments are meant to unite believers with Christ. Not just to remove the accumulations of sin like the weekly laundry, but togradually improve the recipient. They are intended to sanctify and uplift the faithful, increase devotion to God, charity to fellow humans, and moral stamina in the face of evil.
If the sacraments actually worked like this, wouldn’t we hear ennobling stories of clerical reform, of some molester inspired to truly repent and devote himself to the cause? But rather, the stories are depressingly the same, of priests caught time and again, transferred, treated, and now finally, laicized often against their will, with no regret or even acknowledgement of their evil.
What this means, each person must decide in their own conscience. But perhaps the fall off in confessions over the years itself tells the story. Why should anyone, lay or not, risk a ritual that seems so impotent in promoting reform and may, instead of granting grace, actually expose them to greater human wickedness?
